About CAPC
At Central Arkansas Pediatric Clinic, we believe meeting the healthcare needs of children is more than a chosen profession, it is a high calling.
As such, we consider it a privilege and an honor to play a small role in nurturing an infant into childhood, through adolescence and into adulthood.
We realize every child has his or her own unique set of needs that change as they grow. Whether it’s making sure immunizations are given on time, treating a persistent respiratory infection, managing a chronic illness, performing a school physical or providing educational information on how to stay healthy, each time a child visits our clinic, they are treated as a special person worthy of our time, effort, respect and undivided attention.
Our clinic’s philosophy includes an understanding that visiting the doctor is often a traumatic experience for both parent and patient, especially younger children. Our goal at Central Arkansas Pediatric Clinic is to create a first impression that helps begin your visit on a positive note.
As you and your child walk to an examining room, you’ll notice bulletin boards are adorned with photos of some of our patients. These photos were given to the staff in gratitude for care given and are a reflection of the compassion, concern and love our patients feel when they visit our clinic. In addition, you will see artwork created by our patients in galleries throughout the clinic.

Appointments
Our providers see patients by appointment only. Appointments can be made during office hours by calling 501-847-2500. If you are not able to keep an appointment, please call our office as soon as possible. We try to accommodate you with the most convenient appointment; however, there may be circumstances that limit availability.
On occasion, waiting time may be lengthened by unforeseeable circumstances and we ask for your patience in these situations. We will provide you with very attentive care upon your visit. “Walk-in” patients who do not require emergency care will be given a scheduled appointment.
Our Saturday clinic is reserved for sick children only. We do not schedule appointments for Saturdays until that morning at 8:00. Because of a limited schedule time and staffing on Saturdays, we cannot do weight checks, rechecks, allergy injections, or immunizations.
After Hours Service
After hours calls are for emergency and urgent medical questions. If after consulting our Online Parent Handbook, you feel your child requires immediate medical attention, please call our After Hours Service at 501-373-8588. Our clinic has arranged for telephone service to be available to you through Arkansas Children’s Hospital Kid’s Care. When you utilize this service, a nurse will provide you with instructions that have been approved by your doctor. If indicated, the nurse will contact the physician on call regarding your child’s condition. Before calling the after hours service, please have available the following information:
- The child’s temperature (a rectal temperature is recommended for infants and toddlers)
- The name and phone number of a pharmacy that is open
- The name and dosage of any medications your child is taking

Insurance Coverage
We verify insurance coverage is active prior to each scheduled visit. Although this does not guarantee your visit will be paid, it does let us and you know that the insurance company has your child listed as a covered dependent. If coverage cannot be verified, additional information will be necessary at check-in. As a special service to you, we verify well-child benefits (specifically coverage of childhood immunizations) in advance of your child’s check-ups because we feel it is important to you to know what your financial responsibility will be before arriving to the clinic.
Should you have a change in insurance coverage due to job change, marriage or divorce, please be sure to update your child’s billing information with us.
If your insurance plan has a co-pay due with each physician visit, you can expect to pay that portion of your responsibility at check-in for your child’s appointment. For ease of payment, we accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover, Debit Cards, checks and cash.
Adding a newborn to your insurance policy
Most insurance companies allow 60-90 days for you to add your newborn or newly adopted infant to your insurance coverage. If you miss this window, you may not be able to add your child until open enrollment with your employer. The Human Resource Department at your (or your spouse’s) employer should be able to guide you through this process.
